Re: Re: Mets Minor League Report 4-25-08

Right. The B-Mets pitching as of this morning has allowed the most runs in the EL, the most HR and has the second-worst ERA. The team leads the league in hitting, but is third in runs scored. I'm afraid Josh Petersen, who's already 25, doesn't belong in the same discussion as Murphy (23), Carp (21) and Evans (22). He doesn't have the performance track record, and the age factor works very heavily against him. As far as the defensive readiuness of the slugging three-some of Murphy, Carp and Evans, that's a tough question to answer. None exactly come with a reputation for outstanding defense. Murphy has already committed 7 errors in 63 chances at 3B. Evans committed one in brief exposure over there. On the other hand, neither has made a mistake while playing first. Carp leads all EL 1B with 3 errors. The bat will carry all three.
