The new CBA eliminates the Draft and Follow Process. Like you, I was disappointed the Mets didn't sign Beato. I think with the young expensive international free agents, there's a very high risk reward. Sometimes it works briliantly, but if it doesn't a team just throws away a few million bucks. That's still real money.
