with all the money the mets have i think they could do a better job of getting the young international free agents every year...dont get me wrong omar has done a good job getting fmart gurrera and pena but we are the mets we can sign whoever we want and that is the best oppertunity to stock up...we could also take "flyers" and "draft and follows" with later round draft picks and hand out big out of slot bonuses thats another good way to stock up on youth, the first round is nice you can get milledge and pelfrey and humber but you need to fill out the whole system(pedro beato is a draft and follow) i am not a huge fan of signing all these type A,B,C free agents and all of the tradeing that kills our system, i will say he does a good job of trading for youth ill say that(ben johnson,burros,vargas,maine,perez,Aherm,gotay) im just of the belief that good teams are built from within
