It doesn't look at all like the Mets are neglecting the minors. The system has been very productive in the last few years, between Wright, Reyes and Heilman for example. The Mets have scooped up elite talents at the top of the draft, in Wright, Humber and Pelfrey and internationally in Reyes, Martinez and Gomez. The Mets haven't been scared to trade prospects for established veterans, but that's different.
