Re: Mets Minor League Report 8-14-2006

The Grasshoppers scored the game’s only run when a Zac Clements wild pitch bounced off catcher Rafael Arroyo and into the Suns dugout bringing home Greensboro’s Greg Burns, who had just tripled. Clements lasted six innings in the game allowing five hits. Arroyo (.222/.349/.325) had two of the Suns’ four hits and threw out two runners. Wow, I really can't believe we are calling Clements the star of the day! I mean, wild pitches, giving up runs, hitting batters.... that a star does not make in most sports fans eyes. I think it is time for this guy to hang up the cleats. He is the oldest guy on the team and already has two losses under his belt. It is sad really. Time to pack up kid, take it back home and pursue other interests. Arroyo on the other hand, did make some valiant efforts. He has to knock down all those wild pitches of clements and he was the star hitter of the team that night. But overall Clements lost the game for the Suns and extended their already pitiful record.
