The South Atlantic League named DH Jared Abruzzo and C Francisco Pena to its All-Star team on Monday.

Stars of the Day:

AAA: Chris Aguila & Michel Abreu

AA: Off

A+: eh

A: Maikel Cleto/Matt Bouchard

New Orleans (AAA – Pacific Coast League)

New Orleans Zephyrs 18, @ Round Rock Express 4

Reigning PCL Hitter of the Week LF Chris Aguila went yard for the fourth game in a row in leading the Zs to the rout.  Aguila was 3-5 with a jack and 4 RBI.  Michel Abreu and Valentino Pascucci each tossed in three hits and a double.  Abreu drove home three.  Tony Armas lasted six innings for the win.

Binghamton (AA - Eastern League)

Binghamton Mets

Off

St. Lucie (A+ - Florida State League)

Brevard County Manatees 4, @ St. Lucie Mets 2

The Manatees never trailed in this one after scoring twice off Tobi Stoner in the top of the first.  Stoner (1-4, 2.74) lost.  He gave up three runs, two earned on six hits and a walk in 6.1 innings.  No Met had multiple hits although Lucas Duda and Ruben Tejada each doubled.

Savannah (A – South Atlantic League)

Savannah Sand Gnats 2, @ Columbus Catfish 1

Maikel Cleto (2-4, 3.73) held the Catfish to one run on seven innings to earn his second win. I’d be more excited about this kind of performance if he’d struck out one single batter, but he didn’t: 0 BB, 0 K.

The Gnats scored twice in the eighth inning.  Matt Bouchard’s homer tied the score before Greg Veloz singled and came home on a Michael Parker single.
