Hopefully, Lima time has now come to an end so we can focus on Pelfrey Time.  How about that location on the grand slam to Willis?  Looking forward to Pelfrey’s debut in a few hours.

Sometimes people ask me what exactly I do during the day.  Every day is a little different, although Friday was crazy.  I began by updating our website.  Later I sat in on a teleconference with a branding firm regarding potential and long-overdue changes to our logo and brand identity.  Closed a deal over the phone on an all-you-can eat BBQ with a local rotary.  Picked up the display cars that sit on our concourse from the local car dealers.  (The GMC Canyon has some punch and the model I drove had a sweet sound system.)  Raked the dirt around home plate and infield.  (Assistant groundskeeper quit this week.)  Helped prep and stock the concessions stand (cook’s car broke down).  Back at my desk, finished off media notes, and set up two interviews for our players, did an interview myself.  Broadcast six innings of play-by-play sandwiched around 3 innings in the mascot suit, high fiving little kids and running around in the on-field promotions.  (In our mascot race, I executed a beautiful hook slide into third base, while the kid won the race to home plate.)  After shedding the squirrel suit, I put on a dry shirt and went back on the radio, where my excellent intern had been calling the game in my absence.  The day ended the way it began – by updating the website.  This is Minor League Baseball!
