Scobie,
now 1-11, put Norfolk in a six-run hole after four innings, while
Knights’ starter Heath Phillips (10-2) kept the Tides' bats at bay,
scattering five hits and one run in pitching the seven-inning complete
game for the win. Victor Diaz was the lone Norfolk hitter to get more
than one hit, slashing a pair of singles.
The
nightcap got even worse for Norfolk, as Robertson (1-6) was battered
for 9 earned runs in 2-plus innings of work. Tim Lavigne wasn’t much
better out of the pen, giving up four runs in two innings of work.
Second baseman Anderson Hernandez was the offensive star of the game
for the Tides, collecting three hits and driving in a run.
